Glazed are punk, emo, alternative….well just a band that mixes a few genres together from right here in Jacksonville and a few even went to a certain local university (#Swoop!). These four guys made a following here in the 904 and finally released their debut album “You’ve Changed.”
The album is a beautiful mix of both pop-punk and emo that will both bring a tear to your eye while making you scream the lyrics at the top of your lungs. It brings together a mix of what I can best describe as Blink-182 meets Taking Back Sunday.
The album has its moments of fast paced punk rock (Sweesher Sweet Iced Coffee, Antithesis) that will make anyone open up a nice mosh pit, but it also has its slow melodies (Gracie Gold, Tyler’s Song) that will make you want to rip the mic away from lead singer Justin Belichis’ hand to belt the words out yourself.
Jacksonville is the largest city in the U.S. and is filled with all types of music; Glazed are quickly showing that they are among the best. They are separating themselves from the pack and bringing their brand of emo-punk to the forefront of the music scene and this album proves it.
If this album is any indication of what is to come, then the future looks incredibly bright for these guys so do not be surprised if you see them play with some big time acts very soon.
For now, go pick up their album “You’ve Changed” via Ooze Records, catch them July 22 in Jacksonville at The Compound and check out other tour dates as they support this release.
Final Verdict: 4/5
