Hurricane Matthew caused damage up and down the Florida coast. I was fortunate to not have to have dealt with much damage from the storm, but others weren’t that lucky. My thoughts, prayers, and positive energy are sent your way. Now let’s discuss a few things…
If you’re familiar with my particular brand on Twitter, you’ll notice real quickly that I’m only a big fan of the following cities in Florida: Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tampa, and Key West. But after spending a legitimate night out in the state capital, Tallahassee, I have to add another city to my list that I have a true appreciation for. Fire Betty’s Arcade Bar, Proof Brewing, Midtown Pies, and other spots were dope. 10/10 will go again.
A lot has been made of the cancellation of the LSU/UF game in Gainesville over the weekend. While it does appear that the game could have been played at the original noon spot on Saturday in hindsight, it makes sense that when a category 3-4 hurricane is cruising up the coastline of Florida to be a little more cautious. The game should, and probably will be made up. I don’t know what the big deal is.
The Jacksonville Jaguars had a bye week in Week 5 and I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that outside of peeping a few college games this weekend, I had a relatively stress free weekend. Although, I do believe the NFL is doing the most to try and ruin their product. From fining players for touchdown celebrations to fining teams for creating their own gifs and video content to share with their social audiences, I’m finding it harder and harder to be excited about professional football.
Lastly, I’m not a big racing fan, but I will tell you that Forza Horizon 3 is a fantastic and fun game for the XBOX One. Due to a pricing mistake from Target (Thanks @FatKidDeals), I copped the game where you drive around a very realistic recreation of Australia and complete races and other events create these festivals, similar to ULTRA or those EDM shows, but with cars. If you like racing games, it’s not a bad purchase.
